Diapaga: The High Commissioner of Tapoa, Rene Karambiri, inaugurated a civic and patriotic education program at Untaani High School in Diapaga. The event, attended by administrative, local, traditional, and religious leaders, along with the city's Defense and Security Forces, marked the beginning of a significant educational initiative.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the program aims to train 1,360 middle school students from Diapaga's high schools and colleges over a span of 45 days. The focus is on cultivating civic awareness and engagement among students in grades 6 through 10. The launch ceremony featured speeches from key figures, emphasizing the importance of this educational endeavor.
Bahoamba Tankoano, representing the provincial director of secondary education and vocational training for Tapoa, encouraged students to actively participate and benefit from the training. He highlighted the role of the program in shaping students into exemplary citizens and patriots, contributing to the development and patriotic spirit of Burkinab¨ society.
Lieutenant Sanou Abraham Berquin, representing the commander of the 27th Rapid Intervention Battalion, discussed the program's context, pointing out the positive behavioral changes observed in conscripts involved in similar initiatives. He stressed the importance of instilling values such as order, discipline, solidarity, patriotism, and courage in students to reinforce societal values.
The High Commissioner explained that the initiative aligns with the national refounding dynamic initiated by the government. This effort, stemming from a decree adopted on June 24, 2025, seeks to extend the patriotic values taught in previous programs to the entire school community. The goal is to nurture responsible, supportive citizens devoted to their nation.
Rene Karambiri committed to engaging further by immersing himself in the daily experiences of the conscripts, ensuring that the training conditions are conducive to learning. He commended the instructors for their dedication to instilling these essential values in the students.
