Burkina faso: The High Commissioner of the Sandbondtenga province, Idrissa Gamsonr©, on Wednesday conducted a field visit to the Tin Tan Soani (TTS) lowland of Sidigo, in the commune of Barsalogho, which is being developed over an area of 35 hectares.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner was accompanied by Daouda Kiemd©, the provincial director of Agriculture, Water, Animal and Fisheries Resources of Sandbondtenga, along with Adjutant Mathias Sansan Pal©, the president of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Barsalogho, and Rayimsom Serge Igor Birba, the regional director of Agriculture, Water, Animal and Fisheries Resources of Kouls©. During the visit, the delegation observed two technical demonstrations: the placement of riprap on a dike following contour lines at block 1 and compaction at block 2.
The High Commissioner encouraged the residents of Sidigo to take ownership of the newly built infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of these facilities in ensuring the food security of the country and urged citizens to protect and wisely utilize them for the community's benefit. He also called upon beneficiaries to support the food sovereignty movement promoted by the national authorities.
Daouda Kiemd©, the provincial director, pointed out the technical and economic significance of the project. He explained that the development of this lowland would enable hundreds of local producers to improve their lowland rice farming practices and bolster their resilience to climate challenges. The initiative is part of the Burkinabe authorities' broader efforts to enhance agricultural production and revitalize regions impacted by the security crisis.
