Windhoek: Republican Party (RP) president Henk Mudge has declared that his government will focus on labor-intensive projects to foster job creation across Namibia if he wins the upcoming elections. During a press conference in Windhoek, Mudge outlined his plans to attract foreign investment and initiate agricultural projects, particularly aimed at enhancing the livelihoods of residents along the northern rivers.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Mudge emphasized the need for immediate action towards labor-intensive initiatives to tackle the nation’s unemployment issues. He detailed his strategy to invite foreign investors to fund these projects and discussed his vision for transforming small-scale farmers into productive, successful agriculturalists through the development of irrigation schemes. Mudge is competing against 14 other candidates in the presidential and national assembly elections and is focusing on employment as the cornerstone of his campaign.
Mudge criticized the current Swapo-led government
for the high unemployment rates and outlined additional measures including increasing the employment of teachers, nurses, and doctors to boost job numbers. He stressed the importance of these steps not only for improving living conditions but also for enabling Namibia to repay its debts to international entities like the World Bank, IMF, and what he referred to as “the Chinese friends of Swapo.”
