Heavy Rainfall Delays UDA Grassroots Election in Narok


NAROK—The commencement of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) grassroots elections in Narok County has been delayed due to heavy rainfall, which has been affecting various parts of the country.



According to Kenya News Agency, who cast his vote at the Kutete polling station, the heavy rain caused initial delays, impacting the delivery of voting gadgets to polling stations. Despite these challenges, Ntutu stated that the voting process is now proceeding peacefully across the county, with 90 percent of the 585 polling stations receiving their voting gadgets. The elections are expected to result in the selection of 20 member delegates per polling station to represent the party at ward congresses, contributing to subsequent constituency and chairmanship elections. Ntutu also commended the election management team for their efforts in distributing the voting materials efficiently, notably utilizing helicopters to expedite delivery.
