Heads of Administrative Districts Convene in Dissihn to Address Provincial Challenges

Dissihn: The Dissihn town hall hosted, on January 10, 2026, the meeting of the heads of administrative districts of the Ioba province, placed under the chairmanship of the high commissioner, Innocents Ouattara. The prefect, Benjamin Nana, president of the special delegation (PDS) of Dissihn, welcomed the entire provincial administrative team to the municipality of Dissihn. In his opening address, the head of the Ioba, Innocents Ouattara, extended his New Year's greetings to the province's prefects, wishing them every success in carrying out their respective missions.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the difficulties encountered in the departments of the province made it necessary to hold this meeting, in order to promote the sharing of experiences, the identification of challenges and the search for solutions for the benefit of the people of Ioba. The discussions focused primarily on the management of administrative districts and municipalities administered by special delegations. In a roundtable discussion, each prefect presented a report on the functioning of their administrative district from 2025 to the present.

The issue of conflicts related to public freedoms in the departments was a central topic of discussion. In the context of the fight against insecurity, participants also examined the system for controlling fuel distribution, aimed at preventing any resupply of enemies of Burkina Faso, as well as prospects for strengthening this control. To this end, the involvement and management of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in the municipalities was also considered.

For the border departments, administrators analyzed cooperation with neighboring countries and formulated proposals for its improvement. The introduction of civic and patriotic education in high schools and middle schools was also discussed, with a view to effective monitoring and support.

At the municipal level, participants reported on the number of sessions held by the special delegations and updated their membership lists. Conflicts related to the implementation of municipal infrastructure were discussed, and appropriate solutions were proposed. Administrative correspondence between the provincial municipalities and the ministries was also exchanged.

Furthermore, reforms to the education system were discussed, including the establishment of school councils, municipal councils and the provincial committee whose installation is imminent.
