Hauts-Bassins to Host 2nd ‘Dafra Foot Awards’ on June 27, 2025

Bobo-Dioulasso: The organizing committee of the 'Dafra Foot Awards' held a press conference in Bobo-Dioulasso to take stock of the preparations for the 2nd edition of the ceremony, scheduled to be held on June 27 in the city of Sya. The event will recognize local football players and introduce several new features.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the organizing committee, Lassina Diarra, also known as Djallas, announced that the 2025 edition will see the integration of the women's D1 category. This will include four prizes specifically for women's football and an award for the best referee in Fasofoot.

With the event just a month away, organizers have revealed that this year's awards will be presented across approximately 20 categories, with 13 official prizes. Among these are awards for the best coach in the men's divisions 1 and 2, the best scorer in the men's divisions 1 and 2, and the best goalkeeper in men's division 1. Additional categories include the best goal in men's division 1, the best referee in Fasofoot, and the best supporter. The highlight of the ceremony, the "Golden Dafra," will be awarded to the best player of the season.

Lassina Diarra also mentioned that the best male and female goal of the season, as well as the best supporter, will be determined by a public vote. Richard Nabie, the event promoter, emphasized that "The Dafra Foot Awards aim to promote young talent in the national championship and encourage excellence in local football."
