Bobo-Dioulasso — In a significant demonstration of support for national security efforts, education stakeholders in the Hauts-Bassins region have collectively donated 3,454,985 CFA francs to the patriotic support fund. This contribution is aimed at bolstering the resources of local defense and security forces battling terrorism.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Regional Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education in Hauts-Bassins, the donation was made by a delegation of examiners from the 2024 session of the Certificate of Primary Studies (CEP). The funds were presented to the regional governor, Mariama Konaté, on Friday morning, emphasizing the educational community’s commitment to national defense initiatives. Karantao highlighted that this financial gesture was voluntarily made by examiners, supervisors, jury presidents, invigilators, and correctors involved in this year’s CEP.

Governor Mariama Konaté expressed deep appreciation for the donation, praising the educational sector’s patriotic spirit. She emphasized that the value of the donation transcends its monetary worth, reflecting a profound commitment to the nation and serving as a strong example for the region’s youth.

This recent donation marks the second instance of financial support from the educational sector in Hauts-Bassins to the patriotic fund, following an earlier contribution of 600,000 CFA francs. Such efforts illustrate the active role educators are taking in broader societal issues beyond the classroom.
