SINDOU, The province of Léraba welcomed its new Provincial Director of the Environment (DPE), Harouna Sandwidi, in an official installation ceremony led by the high commissioner of the province, Mahamadi Congo, on October 30, 2023.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Sandwidi, previously the Permanent Secretary of the National Council for Sustainable Development (SPCNDD), was warmly ushered into his new role amidst the presence of dignitaries and officials. Notable attendees included Commander Assimi Sawadogo, the representative of the regional director of the Environment of the Cascades, as well as military and paramilitary authorities, customary and religious leaders, and directors and heads of provincial services.
The outgoing DPE, Foé André Joseph Bonaventure Traoré, appointed DP of the Environment of the Mouhoun Loop, shared insights and highlighted emergency projects and ongoing initiatives in water and environmental sectors of Léraba during his tenure since April 24, 2018.
Harouna Sandwidi, in his new capacity, expressed his commitment to addressing the upcoming challenges and emphasized the importance of collaboration and support from his colleagues. The high commissioner, Mahamadi Congo, reassured Sandwidi of his full support and availability to assist him in fulfilling his responsibilities as the new DPE.
