Hamtusin Releases ‘Child of the Sun,’ a New Album Reflecting Burkina Faso’s Spirit


OUAGADOUGOU – Burkinabè slam journalist Mahamad Sangaré, known artistically as Hamtusin, has introduced his latest album “Enfant du soleil” to the music scene, featuring 12 tracks that resonate with themes of resilience and perseverance.



According to Burkina Information Agency, The album, which Sangaré discussed in a recent release, delves into personal and collective struggles, showcasing collaborations with artists like Don Sharp DeBatoro, Fush Alpha, and Hugues Fabrice Zango, among others. One notable track, “Zango,” includes both singing and slam poetry, featuring world champion triple jumper Hugues Fabrice Zango.



Hamtusin’s “Enfant du soleil” incorporates a variety of musical styles, including Amapiano—a blend of electro and pop music—reflecting his vision to integrate slam into mainstream urban music. The album’s tracklist ranges from introspective solos to vibrant collaborations, offering a rich auditory experience aimed at connecting with a wide audience. Hamtusin will also hold a concert on July 19 to celebrate the album’s release.
