Ouagadougou: The public primary school 'A' of Haml emerged victorious in the final football competition organized by the Organization of Sport, Culture and Leisure at Primary School (OSCLEP) within the basic education district of Ouessa, securing a 2-1 triumph over Kolinka school 'A'.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the closing ceremony was led by Isma«l Sanogo, President of the Special Delegation of the Ouessa municipality. The final match, held at School "A" in Ouessa, was the highlight of the 2025-2026 school year's sporting, cultural, and recreational activities. The theme, "Through sport, culture, and leisure, let's sow the seeds of order and discipline in primary schools," underscored the event's focus.
The game commenced with a ceremonial kick-off by Isma«l Sanogo, the Departmental Sports Director of Ouessa, witnessed by Si Pal, the regional director for primary education in Dj´r´. In his remarks, Mr. Sanogo highlighted the critical role of sports, culture, and leisure in enhancing children's education, emphasizing their contribution to academic success. Nirb¨tersob Val¨re Kpoda, head of the Ouessa Basic Education District, echoed this sentiment, stressing the importance of order and discipline.
Gilbert Somda, representing the event's sponsor, reinforced the message. The activities, which started on May 8th, included cultural competitions featuring archery, traditional dance, music, theater, storytelling, and riddles. The Ouessa CCEB praised the performances, acknowledging the dedication of teachers, jury members, and organizers.
Organizers attributed the event's success to the support of €š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬°variste Somda, Divisional Customs Inspector for the Central Region, represented at the ceremony by Gilbert Somda.
