Hajj 2025: 342 Pilgrims Depart from Bobo-Dioulasso for Saudi Arabia

Bobo-Dioulasso: The first flight of the 2025 Hajj from Bobo-Dioulasso International Airport took place on the morning of Sunday, May 18. A total of 342 Burkinabe pilgrims boarded an Ethiopian Airlines plane bound for Medina, Saudi Arabia. This departure marks the official launch of Hajj 2025 flights from the economic capital of Burkina Faso, following those already registered in Ouagadougou.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the departure ceremony took place in the presence of the Governor of the Hauts-Bassins region, Ms. Mariama Konat©, who came to encourage the pilgrims. She urged them to pray for peace, social cohesion, and stability in Burkina Faso, while inviting them to worthily represent the country of upright people in the holy land.

For this 2025 edition, 8,143 Burkinabe Muslim faithful are registered to make the pilgrimage to Mecca.
