Guiriko region: The Governorate of Bobo-Dioulasso organized a collective breaking of the Ramadan fast on Thursday, March 12, 2026. At the initiative of the Governor of the Guiriko region, Ms. Mariama KONATE/GNANOU, this meeting brought together traditional authorities, religious leaders, and various stakeholders from the region. They all gathered around a meal in a spirit of solidarity, sharing, and fraternity, transcending differences in beliefs.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Governor stated that this activity aims to strengthen social cohesion and consolidate harmonious coexistence in the region. She also commended the strong participation, which she considers proof of the interest shown in this initiative. Ms. Konate/Gnanou further emphasized that this approach aligns with the momentum promoted by the highest authorities in the country regarding the advancement of national unity.

During the ceremony, traditional and religious authorities successively offered prayers for peace, stability, and prosperity in Burkina Faso. The ceremony took place in the presence of the President of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH), Mrs. Gonta Alida Henriette DA, to whom the Governor expressed his gratitude for her participation.
