The average economic growth of sub-Saharan African countries is expected to fall to 3.3% in 2023 from 4% in 2022, before rising to 4% in 2024, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has announced. These new estimates are lower than the forecasts announced by the IMF last July, when it indicated that the region would grow by 3.5% in 2023 and 4.1% in 2024.
