On behalf of the Greek Government and the Government of the Republic of Chile, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Openness, Mr. Konstantinos Fragogiannis and the Ambassador of the Republic of Chile in Athens Ms. Ximena Carolina Ares Mora, signed an Air Services Agreement this morning in Athens.
“The Agreement we signed today is the result of extensive negotiations, in the framework of two consecutive Air Conferences (ICAN), which demonstrates the will of our countries to conclude a very promising and functional cooperation in the field of aviation”, noted the Deputy Minister.
Its signing ensures the bilateral institutional framework of aviation and signals the will of the two countries to develop bilateral relations in this field.
The Agreement provides the possibility of exploiting the relevant market by the air carriers of the two sides, via intermediate connection points and to destinations beyond Greece and Chile. At the same time, through the possibility of concluding commercial cooperation between airlines of the two sides and companies of third countries, it paves the way for future direct flights between our country and Chile.
Finally, the provision for unlimited pure cargo services between the two Contracting countries provides increased opportunities for the movement of goods, not only between the two countries, but, via them, to the global market. This strengthens the cooperation between Greece and Chile and creates new prospects for the development of our bilateral trade and economic relations.
