Gourma: The governor of the Goulmou region, Joseph Kafando, urged the servants of the people, this Tuesday, May 5, 2026, to place particular emphasis on the sense of duty and public service, during the solemn raising of the national colors. The governor of the Goulmou region, Joseph Kafando, recalled that the first Tuesday of each month is dedicated to this civic activity, which aims to strengthen patriotic spirit and cohesion among state servants.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this mobilization reflects the commitment of public officials and project and program managers to support the transformation dynamic underway in the country. He congratulated the various stakeholders for their daily efforts in serving the people. The governor also urged participants to maintain this momentum by placing particular emphasis on a sense of duty and public service. "Servants of the people must not serve themselves, but serve the people," he insisted.
The regional authority also presented the manifesto of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP), launched on April 26, 2026, in Bobo-Dioulasso, which it described as a "bedside book" outlining the country's development vision. Joseph Kafando also mentioned the collection of speeches by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, covering the period from September 30, 2022, to April 1, 2025. The governor invited the people of the Goulmou, Tapoa, and Sirba regions to familiarize themselves with these documents, in order to better understand the directions and ambitions of the authorities for the development of Burkina Faso.
He expressed his gratitude to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) for their efforts in favor of the stability of the regions. The ceremony was also marked by the recognition of cultural actors who shone during the last National Culture Week (SNC), with 09 prizes won, compared to 07 during the previous edition. The governor welcomed this progress, congratulating the winners for having honored the three regions.
In addition, "living human treasures" were presented, with a call for them to continue passing on their knowledge to younger generations. The activity concluded with a tasting of local dishes offered by the Soy industry, in connection with the celebration of heritage month, inviting people to consume local products.
