Luanda: The provincial governor of Luanda, Luís Nunes, praised the National Senior Men's Basketball Team for their recent triumph and dedicated the victory to all Angolans. This statement was made during a ceremony held to honor the players and coaching staff for winning the 12th Afrobasket title. The championship took place from the 12th to the 24th of the current month in the cities of MoçSmedes and Luanda. According to Angola Press News Agency, Governor Nunes emphasized that the success was achieved through sacrifice, with the athletes on the court representing not only the nation's colors but also the aspirations of many Angolans eager for the title. He noted that the team's performance showcased Angola's ability to resist, overcome, and succeed against challenges, thus becoming a symbol of cohesion, resilience, and national unity. Governor Nunes further remarked that the players exemplify how dreams can be realized, emphasizing that there are no limits for those who believe. He highlighted that combini ng talent with hard work, discipline, and sacrifice leads to victory. At the conclusion of the event, the team was awarded a certificate of recognition as citizens of merit from the Luanda Provincial Government.
