Passor©: The Governor of the Northern Region, Thomas Yampa, paid a courtesy visit to the administrative, religious, and customary authorities of Passor© on Thursday, March 27, 2025, in Yako. The governor took this opportunity to seek the support and blessings of traditional and religious leaders.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the overall objective of the tour was to meet with his provincial colleagues and ensure the proper conduct of development actions within his administrative jurisdiction. From the Catholic mission to the traditional chiefdom, including the Federation of Evangelical Churches and Missions and the Federation of Islamic Associations of Burkina (FAIB), the governor first addressed his greetings before stating the purpose of his visit.
"I came to introduce myself and express my appreciation for the efforts made in the dynamics of promoting social peace and ask you to unite and work in synergy of action in order to meet the humanitarian and security challenges," he said. The visit was an opportunity for the governor to express his gratitude to all the constituted bodies of the province for the work already accomplished in order to consolidate living together and social cohesion.
The visited authorities all welcomed the governor's initiative and assured him of their prayers and blessings. Aware of the role of awareness-raising and conflict prevention played by these personalities, Mr. Yampa urged all communities to mobilize more around the High Commissioner and the constituted bodies for better results.
At the end of his visit, the governor expressed his satisfaction with the welcome and, above all, with the mobilization, while asking everyone to rally around the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, and to support him in his actions for the return to peace in Burkina Faso. As a reminder, this first outing from the regional authority comes two months after he took office.
