Narok: Governor Patrick Ntutu used the occasion of Mashujaa Day to outline the extensive range of development projects that have been implemented under his administration in Narok County. Highlighting the completion of over 600 projects across the county’s 30 wards, Ntutu emphasized the projects’ alignment with the priorities voiced by residents through public participation forums.
According to Kenya News Agency, Governor Ntutu’s administration has successfully delivered on projects including water facilities, maternity wings, administrative blocks, computer labs, roads, bridges, classrooms, dormitories, and livestock sale yards. He assured that his government would continue to prioritize the fast-tracking of ongoing projects to ensure they meet their completion deadlines and benefit the community promptly.
In addition to the projects completed, Governor Ntutu has initiated a comprehensive infrastructure overhaul program focused on improving mobility for people, goods, and services across Narok County. The
first phase of this program involves upgrading 33 kilometers of road in each ward, with roadworks machinery already deployed to start the work.
Governor Ntutu also introduced a performance contracting system within the county government to enhance accountability and ensure that the implementation of projects aligns with available resources. This system is designed to identify and address any bottlenecks that arise during the execution of performance contracts.
On housing, Governor Ntutu announced a collaboration with the national government to develop affordable housing units within the county. This initiative aims to provide safe and secure shelter for citizens, recognizing affordable housing as a fundamental human right, especially given the current economic challenges and population growth.
