Dori: The governor of the Sahel region, Abdoul Karim Zongo, convened a crucial meeting in Dori, bringing together regional stakeholders to discuss pressing issues, including fuel management, drinking water supply challenges, and the reopening of national road No. 3.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting aimed to provide a platform for open and inclusive dialogue on the region’s significant concerns and to develop constructive solutions for the well-being of the population. Governor Zongo emphasized the need for a collective effort, action synergy, and patriotic commitment to reclaim national territory, facilitate the return of displaced populations, and strengthen economic activities.

During his address, Mr. Zongo welcomed constructive proposals and initiatives that promote peace, coexistence, and sustainable development in the Sahel region. He expressed gratitude to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), and all actors working daily for peace, security, and social cohesion.

Participants were encouraged to embrace government initiatives such as Faso Mªbo and popular shareholding for community entrepreneurship. Discussions highlighted concerns about road incivility in Dori, fuel management, pricing of foodstuffs and consumer products, drinking water supply difficulties, and reopening national road no. 3.

The governor, alongside technical service heads and the FDS, addressed these concerns satisfactorily, acknowledging that collaboration is essential in resolving certain issues. The active forces appreciated the inaugural meeting under Governor Zongo’s leadership. Amadou Dicko, communications head for the Burkina Rempart association, noted that stakeholders suggested involving municipal participants for broader perspectives and crisis resolution efforts.
