Ouagadougou - Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachimson Kyélem de Tambèla chaired a government seminar on cybersecurity and the protection of personal data in the digital age on Thursday morning.
According to Burkina Information Agency, during this seminar, the National Information Systems Security Agency (ANSSI) provided an overview of cybersecurity to members of the government. The Commission on Information Technology and Liberties (CIL) addressed the challenges of using information and communication technologies in the digital age. ANSSI is the national authority responsible for the protection of information systems, with a primary mission to safeguard national cyberspace. This includes reducing the vulnerability of the national cyberspace, managing computer security incidents, and strengthening cybersecurity culture. The CIL is an independent administrative authority with missions that include informing people of their rights and obligations regarding the processing of personal data and monitoring the application of relevant laws to protect individual rights.
