Government Delegation Praises Technicians for Rapid Restoration of Badara Bridge

BAMA, HOUET PROVINCE — A government delegation, led by Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, Minister of State and government spokesperson, visited the Badara bridge on August 10, 2024, to commend the technicians for their swift actions in restoring traffic following recent damages. The bridge, located in the village of Badara within the commune of Bama, is a crucial infrastructure piece in the region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit was an opportunity to express the government's appreciation for the dedication and hard work displayed by the technical team. "We are grateful for the dedication, commitment, and sacrifices made. You have understood the meaning of this statement from the President of Faso Captain Ibrahim Traoré: 'Everything is urgent.' You worked day and night to achieve this result in such a short time. The entire nation is proud of you, and we are counting on you for other work," stated the Minister during his visit.

The delegation also included several other key government figures such as Adama Luc Sorgho, the Minister of Infrastructure; Adjima Thiombiano, the Minister of Housing; and Mikaïlou Sidibé, the Minister of Higher Education, among others. The presence of these officials underscored the importance of the bridge’s swift repair to regional connectivity and safety.

Salfo PACERE, the General Director of Road Maintenance; Ilboudo Moumouni, a bridge specialist; and Lieutenant Ouena of military engineering, all expressed their gratitude for the governmental support that facilitated their rapid response. The technical team was particularly motivated by a visit from the minister the previous night, which spurred them to continue their efforts through the early morning hours, culminating in the reopening of the bridge to light vehicle traffic.

The visit not only highlighted the successful restoration of the Badara bridge but also set the stage for future projects, with plans already underway to reinforce another metal bridge between Badara and Orodara. The government's proactive engagement and the technical team's response exemplify a collaborative effort to maintain and enhance critical infrastructure within the region.
