Luanda: The Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Jos© de Lima Massano, defended on Friday in Luanda the creation of a logistics system that serves people and businesses, promotes efficiency, innovation, and respect for the environment. Speaking at the opening of the first “Angola Hub Transport and Logistics Summit,” the minister emphasized the importance of the logistics system in bringing economies closer together and serving as a meeting point for cultures.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the minister highlighted the Angolan government’s commitment to implement structural reforms and develop policies that sustainably overcome macroeconomic vulnerabilities, making the country more competitive, connected, and with a dynamic, diversified and inclusive economy. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
Jos© de Lima Massano said the “Angola Hub Transport and Logistics Summit” is taking place at a time when the world is once again facing challenges in global supply chains-ranging from the impacts of climate change, geopolitical tensions, and tariff wars to digital and technological transformations that influence production, transportation, and consumption.
Held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of National Independence, to be celebrated on November 11, the “Angola Hub Transport and Logistics Summit” aims to establish the country as an air, maritime, port, and rail hub, capable of connecting Africa to the world, consolidating sovereignty, boosting economic growth, and projecting the country as a continental benchmark in this sector.
The three-day event brings together 100 national and international companies, 24 startups, as well as experts and business leaders.
