Government Allocates N.dollars 10 Million for Revival of Namibian Annual Music Awards

Windhoek: The Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture has announced the return of the Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) following a six-year pause. A statement issued by the ministry confirmed that a total of N.dollars 10 million has been allocated to revive the awards.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the ministry is spearheading this revival to ensure the continued celebration of Namibia's musical talent and cultural creativity. Mbumba Haitengela, the ministry's Executive Director, emphasized that the NAMAs have been one of Namibia's most anticipated musical events, evolving from the Sanlam Music Awards to the Namibian Music Awards.

Haitengela highlighted the ministry's aim to support the growth of the local music industry, encourage emerging artists, and reinforce the role of music in nation-building and promoting Namibian identity. Further information, including dates, venues, and participation guidelines, will be shared once all administrative and logistical arrangements have been finalized. The ministry looks forward to celebrating Namibian musical excellence with the public and all stakeholders.
