Uasin Gishu: The Government through the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary (OPCS), working together with the National Government Coordination Secretariat (NGCS), is strengthening systems to ensure high-priority projects are not only hastened but effectively completed to deliver services to the citizens.
According to Kenya News Agency, the Chief of Staff, Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary (OPCS), Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs (MFDA), Joseph Busiega, led a team to inspect various key projects in Uasin Gishu County. The inspection aims at establishing the implementation status of the high-priority projects and programmes identified within the Rift Valley region.
The OPCS, NGCS, the Government Delivery Services (GDS) and other government agencies that constituted the inspecting team, through the 'whole of Government Approach', inspected high-priority projects. These included the E-voucher input system to support 2 million farmers-NCPBs, Universal Broadband Connectivity in Uasin Gishu County, Affordable Housing Projects at Kidiwa and Kapseret, Eldoret Law Courts and the Development of New SEZs in Eldoret.

Joseph Busiega emphasized that the mission was to identify and resolve issues hampering the completion of projects. He stressed the need for these high-priority projects to align with the Fourth Medium-Term Plan 2023-2027 (MTP IV) and the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) for Inclusive Growth, which aim to spur national development.
Furthermore, Busiega noted that the projects need to adhere to the requirements of Schedule 7 of the budget, part of the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) budget, outlining sector budget proposals. He affirmed commitment to continue working with Regional Coordinators (RCs) and other government agencies to ensure the projects are successfully completed.
'The exercise has been successful; we have noted areas of concern that require attention. We shall follow up to ensure the issue is sorted out,' said Busiega. Others present included NGCS Secretary Alfred Diru and Rift Valley Region Government Delivery Services (GDS) Coordinator Olando Sitati.
