Gourma: Women artisans from the Goulmou region celebrated International Women's Day through the 3rd edition of the Fada N'Gourma Weavers and Dyers Fair, organized from March 4 to 8, 2026, under the theme: "Clothing sovereignty: what contribution from the artisans of Goulmou, Sirba and Tapoa?".

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was held under the patronage of regional administrative authorities, providing a platform to showcase women's artisanal skills and promote local textiles. For five days, craftswomen from the Goulmou, Sirba, and Tapoa regions exhibited their creations, including woven loincloths, traditional dyes, and various other local handicrafts.

The ceremony's patron, Flora Lankoand©, praised the initiative, emphasizing that weaving and dyeing are not only income-generating activities but also strong symbols of cultural identity for local communities. Ms. Lankoand© highlighted that weavers and dyers contribute to job creation and the improvement of living conditions for many families while promoting Burkinabe cultural heritage.
