Gourma/Sant: The Regional University Hospital Celebrates Excellence and Opens Its Doors to the Population

Gourma: The Regional University Hospital Center (CHRU) of Fada N'Gourma held, from November 28 to 29, 2025, its open days coupled with the first edition of the day of excellence, under the patronage of the First Vice-President of the Transitional Legislative Assembly, Dafidi David Lompo. The event made it possible to offer several free health services to the population and to reward 33 agents for their professional commitment.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the organizing committee, Alfred M. Lallogo, highlighted that the open days were marked by various free health services for the benefit of the population. "Consultations with general practitioners and specialists, cervical screening and several other screenings have been offered," he said. Mr. Lallogo also mentioned that 33 agents were rewarded during the Day of Excellence held on November 29, 2025, each leaving with a certificate of merit.

Patron of the ceremony, His Excellency Dafidi David Lompo, welcomed the initiative which aims to encourage emulation among health personnel. "The day of excellence allows the agents to create emulation among themselves while increasing the quality of care. We want a profession that can give life and hope to resilient populations," he said. Mr. Lompo also paid tribute to the Minister of Health for his efforts to strengthen the technical capacities of the care units, before inviting the agents to continue their efforts. "It's not about taking a gift of gratitude, it's about a commitment to do better. This is how we will have a prosperous Burkina Faso," he insisted.

The Minister of Health, Dr. Robert Lucien Jean-Claude Kargougou, stressed the importance of celebrating the merit of health workers in a difficult security context. "The activities of the Fada N'Gourma University Hospital are very intense because of terrorism. The demand for care has increased, but despite this adversity, we see officers who are motivated and constantly on the job," he said. Dr. Kargougou congratulated all the staff while inviting them to be more professional and self-sacrificing. "The expectations of the Burkinab¨ and those of the Eastern region are numerous. But I can reassure you that the Burkinabe State is working to improve the technical health platforms," he concluded.

The open days of the Fada N'Gourma University Hospital were thus a framework for exchanges, health services and merit promotion, reflecting the constant commitment of health actors to serve the population.
