Gourma: The High Commissioner of Gourma Province, Silas Nacanabo, presided over the traditional raising of the national flag on Thursday, December 4, 2025. According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner of the Gourma province, Silas Nacanabo, emphasized that the raising of the national colours meets two major requirements: its mandatory nature in all provincial directorates and its ability to promote closer ties between agents invested with the same mission, that of loyally serving the people. "We are here for public service, to serve the people," insisted the High Commissioner, before congratulating the staff for their efforts despite an adverse context.

He gave special mention to agricultural technicians whose support for producers, he said, enabled the recording of a surplus agricultural yield during the past season. Mr. Nacanabo urged the agents to continue this support in order to help producers manage their harvests rationally. The top official of the Gourma province also called on them to show more selflessness and a greater sense of duty.

"Know that there is no indispensable manager without agents. The service will not function without agents," he reminded, calling for greater loyalty in the performance of tasks, sometimes in difficult conditions. Addressing department heads, Silas Nacanabo recommended caution in decision-making and giving agents a second chance in case of misconduct. However, he stressed that the law must be rigorously applied to those who resist in order to serve as an example.

The High Commissioner finally expressed his gratitude to the staff of the provincial directorate of Agriculture for the initiative to erect their mast thanks to a contribution from their own resources. At the start of the year, he urged the constituted bodies and agents to be careful on the roads.
