Fada N’Gourma: Yacouba Bagayiri made a commitment to fight against disinformation when he took over the reins of the regional management in charge of Communication for the Eastern region. This transition occurred on Friday, January 17, 2025, in Fada N’Gourma.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Secretary General of the Eastern region, Siaka Ouattara, officially installed Yacouba Bagayiri in his new role. Ouattara conveyed the appointment on behalf of the Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, entrusting Bagayiri with the responsibilities of regional director of Communication, Culture, Arts, and Tourism for the Eastern region. Siaka Ouattara expressed encouragement and conveyed wishes for success and blessings at the event.
Yacouba Bagayiri, appointed by the Council of Ministers on December 26, 2024, emphasized his responsibility in promoting social cohesion and regional unity. He noted the importance of combating disinformation that could cause division and weaken communities. Bagayiri also committed to leveraging communication to support security efforts by raising awareness on peace and security issues.
Addressing current challenges, Bagayiri highlighted the necessity of supporting cultural, arts, and tourism actors in preserving their identity. He also expressed his intention to build on the progress made by his predecessors, Talata Marcelline Kabor© and S©bastien Mon©, who achieved remarkable results in their respective roles despite facing adversities.
Siaka Ouattara urged the new regional director to engage with users to ensure success in his new mission. Bagayiri brings experience as a cinema and audiovisual administrator, having led RTB2 Fada for nine years.
