Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of the province of Gourma, Silas Nacanabo, officially installed the office of the Provincial Council of Persons with Disabilities in Fada N'Gourma. The council, chaired by Taladi Sagnan, comprises 12 members who will serve a four-year term.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Silas Nacanabo encouraged the council members to work with unity and responsibility to advocate for people with disabilities in the province. He emphasized the importance of solidarity and urged the council to develop a realistic and consensual action plan to seek support from institutions and partners. Nacanabo assured the council of his support in their mission.
Samou Zor©, head of the humanitarian assistance and national solidarity service of the provincial directorate in charge of social action in Gourma, stated that the office's establishment complies with regulations governing councils for disabled persons. The 12 members are appointed for a four-year term, with the possibility of one renewal.
On behalf of the new board, general secretary Yenkouali Eveline expressed gratitude to the administrative authorities and the disabled community for their trust. She affirmed the office's commitment to promoting the empowerment and inclusion of disabled individuals and combating exclusion.
Taladi Sagnan and his team are tasked with representing the concerns of disabled people to authorities and partners while working to improve their living conditions in Gourma.
