Gourma: The teaching and administrative staff of Yembila Abdoulaye Toguyeni University (UYAT) made a financial contribution of one million fifty thousand (1,050,000) CFA francs to the Faso MEbo Presidential Initiative on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of Yembila Abdoulaye Toguyeni University, Professor Samuel OuOba, stated that this gesture reflects the university institution's commitment to support the call of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, for national mobilization aimed at developing urban infrastructure.
Professor OuOba highlighted that the Faso MEbo project, which has been implemented in cities such as Ouagadougou and Bobo-Dioulasso, has demonstrated its impact and merits widespread support. He encouraged the communities of Goulmou, Sirba, and Tapoa to engage fully in this project to ensure its success for the benefit of the people.
In addition to the financial contribution, university students actively participated in on-site work. Student Olivia E. Thiombiano expressed that this involvement aligns with the values learned during their patriotic immersion program, which instilled principles of selflessness, mutual support, and national pride. She noted her satisfaction in contributing to the development of her city through the Faso MEbo initiative, working alongside supervisors.
Following the financial contribution, the university's teaching staff, administrative staff, and students took part in producing and laying paving stones, demonstrating their tangible commitment to local development.
