According to Burkina Information Agency, the 2025 edition of cultural and sporting activities was launched by the Basic Education District (CEB) of Fada N'Gourma 1 on January 25, 2025, starting with traditional wrestling. These activities aimed to emphasize the significance of cultural roots in shaping their collective identity.
At the conclusion of the activities, Ahadi Idani, Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB), highlighted the renewed hope among participants that sport and culture could bridge differences and foster community connections. He noted that beyond the medals, the true trophy is the peace and brotherhood they aspire to achieve.
The event, under the theme "Sport and culture in schools, a springboard for promoting social cohesion and peace," was sponsored by the general director of Saphyto, Auguste Thiombiano. He remarked that each match and artistic performance showcased values such as courage, fair play, respect, and solidarity, which are fundamental to a society connected with its cultural roots.
The football final featured the Baapouguini 'B' team against the public primary school of sector 11 B, with each half lasting 25 minutes. Baapouguini "B" dominated the first half, with striker Daniel Legma scoring in the 14th minute. In the second half, the sector 11 B team attempted a comeback, but in added time, Baapouguini "B" striker Olivier Couldiaty secured the win with another goal.
