Fada N’Gourma March 15, 2023 (AIB) – 400 candidates from around twenty establishments are expected at the Olympiads and the scientific day, scheduled for March 18 and 19, 2023, in Fada N’Gourma, announced yesterday Tuesday the Liyentiali Association.
The Liyentiali Association, created in 2016 in Fada N’Gourma, is a national organization that operates in the fields of vocational training, education and research.
She is also interested in health, sport, culture and youth entrepreneurship.
In front of journalists, on Tuesday March 14, 2023, the Liyentiali Association declared that it wanted to organize Olympics and a scientific day on March 18 and 19, 2023 to welcome around 400 candidates from around twenty establishments in the region.
The competitions for the Olympiads, which concern all levels of post-primary and secondary education, will take place in scientific subjects (physical sciences, mathematics and life and earth sciences).
During the scientific day, an expert will lead a conference on the theme “Teaching and learning of scientific subjects in times of crisis: the case of the young girl” and will give a scientific demonstration, explained the president of the organizing committee of the Olympiads and of the scientific day, Lamine Saré.
63 prizes including special prizes dedicated to the best girls will be awarded to the winners of the Olympiads, suggested Mr. Saré.
By organizing these competitions, we want to encourage students to take an interest in scientific subjects, to create a culture of excellence between the different teachers and the different schools in these teaching disciplines which govern the world, argued the responsibles.
The chairman of the committee added that these Olympiads aim to arouse enthusiasm for scientific subjects, to demystify and especially to encourage frank women to devote themselves to scientific subjects and to instill the spirit of entrepreneurship in young people.
The best students in competitive subjects of all levels of education (from 6th to Terminale) are authorized to take part in the Olympics, said Mr. Saré.
Finally, the Liyentiali association asks for all support of any kind whatsoever for the promotion of scientific subjects in the Eastern region in particular and in Burkina Faso in general.
