According to Burkina Information Agency, the leading figures of the Goulmou region participated in the flag-raising ceremony on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, presided over by the Governor of the Goulmou region, Ram Joseph Kafando. He indicated that the raising of the national flag in the various administrative offices aims primarily to strengthen social cohesion and foster closer ties between the various institutions.

The Governor noted that these different stakeholders share a common mission: to contribute to the development of the region for the well-being of its people. He emphasized the importance of the rotating nature of the ceremony, which allows officials and members of the various institutions to become more familiar with the location of the administrative offices and promotes better collaboration between public administration structures.

Furthermore, he commended the efforts already made by all parties within the framework of the Faso Mebo project, particularly through in-kind donations. Mr. Kafando, however, urged all stakeholders to go beyond mere material contributions, by investing more manpower to ensure the effective implementation of the actions planned within this project.

The first raising of the national flag in 2026 thus served as an opportunity to reaffirm the values of patriotism, solidarity, and collective commitment to the development of the Goulmou region.
