Gorom-gorom: The Special Delegation of the municipality of Gorom-Gorom delivered office, computer, and sports equipment to local educational institutions and a youth sports association. This handover took place on Thursday, January 15, 2025, benefitting the Basic Education Districts (CEB) of Gorom-Gorom 1 and 2, the General Education College (CEG, ex-continuum), and the Oudalan Youth Sports Association (AJSDO).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation is part of ongoing efforts to support educational institutions in the municipality. Gorom-Gorom 1 and 2 primary schools received two video projectors, two projection screens, and a laptop computer to enhance teaching conditions and improve basic education quality.
Municipal authorities explained that this support is intended to help educational officials effectively carry out their missions amidst security and logistical challenges, while also encouraging teachers for their dedication to children's education.
The Gorom-Gorom General Education College received equipment including a photocopier, printer, desktop computer, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), principal's chair, twenty visitor chairs, and an office desk. This donation aims to enhance school administration and educational management.
School officials believe this equipment will contribute to better organizational efficiency and student supervision.
The Oudalan Youth Sports Association (AJSDO) also received support to promote sport and youth development, receiving forty football boots, twenty basketball shoes, twenty professional footballs, six basketballs, jerseys, vests, goalkeeper gloves, posts with nets, training cones, and first aid kits.
This equipment addresses AJSDO's priority needs for developing football and basketball, which are increasingly popular among women in the locality.
The head of the Special Delegation stated that this initiative strengthens social cohesion and community spirit by facilitating competitions and sporting events for young people.
Leaders of the beneficiary organizations expressed gratitude to the Gorom-Gorom town hall for the support, underscoring the Special Delegation's commitment to education and sports as vital components of local development and social peace.
