Sabou: Good Vision Burkina, a German NGO, organized a vision screening campaign on Tuesday, June 29, targeting elderly individuals under the auspices of the President of the Special Delegation of Sabou Commune, Mr. Abdoul Aziz KOARA.
According to Burkina Information Agency, before the consultations commenced, optician Mr. Aboubacar ZIBA, accompanied by his team, conducted an awareness session on common eye diseases such as hypermetropia, myopia, presbyopia, cataracts, and shared dietary practices beneficial for maintaining eye health. He emphasized, “Eyes are the reflection of the world. Good vision leads to a better quality of life.”
Mr. Moussa KONOMBO, the campaign promoter and a native of Gounghin, expressed his concern over the visual health situation in his locality. “We requested Good Vision to assist our parents and help them prevent or correct their vision issues,” he stated.
Among the beneficiaries, Z©nabou Sedogo expressed her satisfaction with the initiative, feeling proud to be aware of her visual health status. She encouraged others to engage with the NGO for regular eye check-ups.
The campaign was sponsored by Dr. Mari¨ta Mitiketa OUEDRAOGO, the Chief Medical Officer of the Sabou Health District.
