Golden Jubilee of Bishop Anselme Titianma Sanon Celebrated with Inspiring Conference

Bobo-Dioulasso: The Organizing Committee of the Golden Jubilee of Bishop Anselme Titianma Sanon held a public conference on Saturday in Bobo-Dioulasso, aiming to explore the vision, actions, and significant works of Bishop Sanon. This event is part of the commemorative activities celebrating his legacy.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the conference was themed “Legacy of Bishop Sanon: Inspiration for the Commitment of Young People” and aimed to retrace the career and commitments of Bishop Sanon, who was the first black bishop of the archdiocese of Bobo-Dioulasso, ordained on April 5, 1975. The former president of the National Assembly, Soungalo Apollinaire Ouattara, emphasized the importance of revisiting Bishop Sanon’s thoughts, analyzing his commitments, and exploring ways to continue his actions.

Abdoulaye Nabol©, the sponsor of the activity, expressed his gratitude to the Archbishop Emeritus for his fifty years of episcopal service. Bishop Anselme Titianma Sanon expressed his appreciation to the organizers and participants, and he called for unity, forgiveness, and reconciliation, highlighting the importance of living in peace and being reconciled rather than being strangers to one another.

Bishop Sanon also urged the population to foster attentiveness, fraternity, and humanity for a world free from violence. The Golden Jubilee program also includes testimonials, training sessions on artificial intelligence, and a cultural evening, continuing until June 7. The conference was hosted by former President of the National Assembly, Soungalo Apollinaire Ouattara, and former Minister of Culture, Arts and Tourism, Abdoul Karim Sango.
