Baku: The municipality of Gogo has exceeded its investment revenue mobilization targets for the 2025 fiscal year, achieving a 116.04% completion rate, representing 294,107,895 FCFA in mobilized resources. This performance has enabled the financing of several investments in the municipality's priority sectors, stated the President of the Special Delegation (PDS), Issa Tiendrebeogo, on Saturday during the Municipal Accountability Day.
According to Burkina Information Agency, 85.74% of the resources mobilized were allocated to investment expenditures. These funds were primarily used for infrastructure projects in the areas of water supply, education, and health, as well as to support the local economy.
For the PDS, this performance reflects the efforts made by the municipality in terms of financial governance and mobilization of own resources, thanks to the commitment of municipal services and the contribution of the population. He also stressed that the achievements recorded also result from the constant support of several partners, including Kiaka SA, Oryx nergie, Eau Vive Internationale, Groupe CZ Sarl, as well as many other technical and financial partners.
Held under the theme "Citizen participation for inclusive local development", this day provided a framework for exchanges between municipal authorities and the population on the management of the community. In its intervention, the PDS recalled that accountability is an essential pillar of good local governance.
'Governing locally is not just about mobilizing resources or building infrastructure. It is also about reporting on the resources mobilized, the priorities chosen, the actions carried out, the results obtained, but also on the shortcomings observed and the prospects envisaged,' he said.
According to him, the transparent presentation of the municipality's administrative, financial and social record, while establishing the link between the resources mobilized and the concrete achievements, helps to strengthen trust between the municipal administration and the citizens. The President of the Special Delegation expressed his gratitude to the High Commissioner of the province of Nahouri, Si Aristide Mohamed Kam, for moderating the proceedings, and to the High Commissioner of the province of Zoundwogo, Julien Oudraogo, for his constant support.
He also praised the contribution of the decentralized technical services, technical and financial partners, customary and religious authorities, as well as all the people of the municipality. The ceremony was marked by several highlights, including the installation of the recommendations monitoring committee composed of 5 members including two women, the presentation of letters of congratulations to the most deserving municipal agents, certificates of congratulations to the villages, institutions and people who contributed to the initiative "One village, at least one motorcycle for the VDP", as well as certificates of recognition to the various partners of the municipality.
The day concluded with the handover of medical equipment to the community's health facilities. The first batch, valued at over 10 million FCFA, was donated by Groupe CZ Sarl, while a second batch worth 2 million FCFA was generously donated by Kassougou Naaba, in support of improving healthcare services in the community.
