Godin’s School Clinches OSCEP Trophy After Intense Football Competition

Ouagadougou: The Basic Education District (CEB) of Bissiga wrapped up the Organization of Sport and Culture in Primary School (OSCEP) activities at the Godin Public Primary School.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event, themed "Sport and culture in primary school, foundation of education for social cohesion and resilience," brought together education stakeholders, local authorities, security forces, and the community to celebrate the educational values fostered by sport and culture. Initially slated to occur before the Primary School Certificate (CEP) exams, the OSCEP final was eventually held on Friday, June 5, 2026, in Godin.

Seven schools participated in the football competition, culminating in a victory for Godin Public Primary School, which defeated Kankag-Raboguin with a score of 2-0. Michel Boudaogo, the Head of the Basic Education District of Bissiga, expressed satisfaction over the successful organization of the event amidst financial and security challenges, attributing the success to the dedication of teachers, parents, security forces, and sponsors.

Justin Nikiema, the event's sponsor, praised the initiative, highlighting his support as a response to the solidarity request from top authorities. Benjamin Zalv©, President of the special delegation of the commune of Bissiga, underscored the significance of sport and culture in nurturing teamwork, mutual respect, and civic values among young learners. He extended his congratulations to the organizers and contributors, including the Defense and Security Forces and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland.

The victorious team was awarded a trophy, a set of jerseys, a ball, and an envelope containing 35,000 CFA francs. The event concluded in a congenial atmosphere, with participants expressing eagerness for the next edition.
