Gnagna: The Basic Education District (CEB) of Manni in the province of Gnagna closed the activities of the Organization of Sports and Culture in Primary Schools (OSCEP) on Monday, May 26, 2025, marking the end of two months of intense sports and cultural competitions. The Gabondi school particularly distinguished itself by winning the trophies in women’s handball and boys’ football.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the 2025 edition of the OSCEP in Manni was held under the theme “Sport and culture in primary schools, factors of rapprochement between peoples for lasting peace,” and witnessed a strong mobilization of educational communities, administrative, customary and religious authorities, and local populations. Several sporting and cultural activities were organized, including traditional and modern dance, drama, recital, playback, fashion show, drawing, sprinting, long jump, women’s handball, and boys’ football.
Emmanuel Tindano, President of the Manni Special Delegation (PDS), praised the commitment of educational stakeholders and encouraged students to take full advantage of the benefits of sports and culture. He also urged them to cultivate a spirit of fair play. This edition served as a framework for expressing talents and strengthening social cohesion.
On the sporting front, the Gabondi school excelled by winning the girls’ handball final against the Gori school and the boys’ football match against the Saint Michel private school, after a penalty shootout. The Gabondi school thus secured, for the third consecutive time, the title of champion in these two major disciplines.
Numerous prizes in kind and cash were awarded to the most deserving participants. The Head of the CEB of Manni, Marcelin Damoalga, expressed his deep gratitude to the partners, donors, and local authorities for their constant support of the activities of the OSCEP.
