The Catholic Organization for Development and Solidarity (OCADES) Caritas/ SED Fada launched, on Thursday September 7, 2023 in Bogandé, the activities of the EA20-2023 Project for the reduction of vulnerability and increasing the resilience of very poor households affected by the security crisis in the commune of Bogandé.

The EA20-2023 Project intends to contribute to reducing vulnerability during the lean season and increasing the resilience of very poor households affected by the security crisis in the commune of Bogandé. The said project also advocates for the care of malnourished children.

According to the Monitoring-Evaluation Officer, Salifou Nadjoari, the EA20-2023 project benefits from financial support from CARITAS International.

The project also intends to invest in food, nutritional and livelihood assistancevc In total, 300 poor households including internally displaced people and vulnerable people will each benefit from food assistance for a period of three months, to the amount of 144,000 FCFA.

The nutritional component concerns 225 children aged 6 to 23 months from beneficiary households. The project will provide them with enriched infant flour to combat malnutrition. In addition, facilitators of the EA20-2023 project and Community Based Health Workers (ASBC), will be involved in carrying out awareness-raising activities as part of the prevention of diseases linked to lack of hygiene.

For the livelihood reconstruction component, among the 300 poor households, 100 poorer households will benefit from financial support to carry out sheep fattening activities. Each beneficiary, most of them women, will be provided with two sheep and a ram for an amount of 150,000 FCFA. Added to this is support for animal feed of 30,000 FCFA and the sum of 20,000 FCFA for breeding equipment. To do this, the beneficiaries will be accompanied by agents of the technical livestock services.

The representative of the president of the special municipal delegation of Bogandé, Thiamba Damiba, expressed his thanks to the NGO OCADES Caritas de Fada for the support from which the commune of Bogandé has always benefited. According to him, the project's intervention will contribute to improving the living conditions of the populations.
