BOMBAY — The wedding of Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Asia’s wealthiest individual, Mukesh Ambani, attracted global celebrities, including pop icon Rihanna, Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg, and Ivanka Trump, daughter of Donald Trump. Mukesh Ambani, at 66 years old, presides over Reliance Industries, the largest conglomerate in India, and is ranked as the 10th richest person globally by Forbes magazine, boasting assets exceeding $116 billion.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Mukesh Ambani inherited a flourishing industrial business in the oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors from his father. He expanded the empire into retail, telecommunications, and sports, including ownership of a cricket team. The Ambani family resides in Antilia, a 27-story skyscraper in Bombay, noted for its iconic status and the hefty price tag of over a billion dollars for its construction. The building employs 600 people, underscoring the family’s wealth and influence.

In 2018, Mukesh Ambani hosted India’s most lavish wedding for his daughter, with costs reportedly around $100 million, highlighted by a performance from US pop sensation Beyonce. Anant Ambani, 28, who holds positions on the board of several Reliance-owned companies, is set to marry Merchant, 29, later this year, continuing the family tradition of grand celebrations.
