Marrakech – GITEX Africa Morocco 2024 is set to take place from May 29 to 31 in Marrakech, marking it as a significant event for technology and innovation on the continent. The event will operate under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and is organized by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform in collaboration with the Digital Development Agency and Kaoun International.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event aims to highlight Morocco’s role in promoting digital transformation in Africa and to support the digital development of Moroccan enterprises. A memorandum of understanding was signed on October 12, 2022, between the Digital Development Agency and Dubai World Trade Center/Kaoun International to organize this African version of GITEX Global, which has been held in Dubai for over four decades.
The conference will feature participation from 200 Moroccan startups in an initiative dubbed ‘Morocco 200’, supported by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Digital Transition Reform, aiming to cover 95% of their participation fees. The event will also benefit from the support of several institutional partners, including ANRT, ONDA, ONCF, RAM, OCP, and CGEM, which reflects the country’s commitment to leveraging technology for economic and social development.
