Windhoek: The Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF) has issued a call to action for all pensioners, children, and spousal beneficiaries, urging them to complete their biometric verification by the deadline of 28 February 2025. This measure is crucial to prevent the suspension of their monthly benefit payments.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the GIPF highlighted the significance of biometric verification in a media statement on Wednesday. The process is designed to ensure that benefits are disbursed only to legitimate recipients, thereby preventing any delays. Beneficiaries have the option to complete the verification either by visiting any GIPF office or utilizing the newly launched GIPF mobile verification app.
The statement further warned that failure to complete the verification by the specified deadline would result in the suspension of monthly benefit payments. It was noted that proof of life verification is mandated three times a year, and all members are encouraged to complete their verification in a timely manner to guarantee uninterrupted receipt of benefits.
