Luanda: A memorandum to promote academic relations and the transfer of cultural, technological, and scientific knowledge was signed on Monday in the country’s capital between the Luanda Science Centre (CCL) and the National Space Program Management Office (GGPEN). The agreement was signed by the directors-general of the CCL, Diogo Morais, and the GGPEN, Zolana Joo, focusing on teaching, research, dissemination, and scientific learning.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Vangiliya Filipe, assistant director for the Technical and Scientific department of the GGPEN, stated that the aim is to create joint mechanisms for training staff in the use of space technology in a more academic forum. The GGPEN has also signed two other partnerships with the Angolan Young Entrepreneurs Association (ANGE) and the private telecommunications and agriculture services company Multitel.
The agreement seeks to enhance and disseminate knowledge, encouraging new entrepreneurs to engage with the space sector through education and the products and services developed within GGPEN. The Luanda Science Centre (CCL) is recognized as a pioneering institution in Angola, dedicated to the dissemination and popularization of scientific, technological, and cultural knowledge.
GGPEN operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technology, and Media, holding responsibility for managing and monitoring the development of the National Space Program.
