Berlin: Germany's producer prices fell at the fastest rate since early 2024 in January, as reported by Destatis on Friday. Producer prices experienced an annual decrease of 3.0% in January, marking the largest drop since April 2024. This comes after a 2.5% decline in December, with the downward trend starting in March 2025, largely driven by reduced energy costs. On a month-to-month basis, producer prices declined by 0.6% in January.
According to Namibia Press Agency, when energy prices are excluded, producer prices actually rose by 1.2% compared to the previous year and increased by 0.6% from the previous month. The ongoing reduction in energy prices remains the primary factor behind the overall annual decrease in producer prices.
