Germany Begins Green Hydrogen Supply Talks with Algeria to Cover 10% of European Demand

Berlin—Germany has initiated discussions with Algeria to supply green hydrogen through existing gas pipelines, aiming to meet up to 10% of Europe’s demand for green hydrogen.

According to a new release by Africa News Agency, Germany’s negotiations with Algeria are focused on the conversion and expansion of existing gas pipelines to facilitate the supply. This volume of green hydrogen is projected to be equivalent to what is planned for the H2Med European hydrogen pipeline project, which originates in Spain and Portugal.
