Genser Energy Donates Over 11 Tons of Food to Displaced Persons and Security Forces in Kaya

KAYA — Genser Energy, a key player in energy supply, contributed more than 11 tons of food to internally displaced widows, their hosts, and the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) in Kaya on Tuesday. The donation included 3.4 tons of rice, 102 cartons of sardines, 15 cartons of milk, and 100 cans of 25-liter oil.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this contribution is part of an effort to enhance the resilience of the internally displaced women in Kaya and their hosts, who have been severely affected by terrorist activities. The initiative also serves to express gratitude towards the FDS, who are actively engaged in efforts to reclaim the nation’s territorial integrity.

As stated by Roseline Prisca Dermé/Ouédraogo, president of the Cri de Coeur Association which supports orphans, widows, and the destitute in the Center-North, the food distribution was accompanied by educational sessions on gender violence for the women. Élisa Sawadogo, representing the recipients, expressed her thanks to the association and extended best wishes to its leaders for their ongoing support.
