GAY€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬°RI: The town of Gay©ri, located in Burkina Faso’s Komondjari province, has received a crucial supply convoy for the second time in under two months. The delivery, escorted by the 20th Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR), arrived on Saturday evening without incident, providing essential goods to the local population just before the New Year celebrations.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the convoy departed from Fada N’Gourma on December 26, 2024, at approximately 4 a.m. After a two-day pause in Yamba, it finally reached Gay©ri on December 28. The arrival was met with enthusiastic cheers from residents who had been eagerly awaiting the convoy’s arrival for three days.
The successful and safe journey of the convoy was attributed to the professionalism and dedication of the BIR elements. Emmanuel Lankouand©, the first deputy of the special delegation of the commune of Gay©ri, expressed relief and gratitude for the timely delivery. “We welcome the arrival of this convoy a few days before the New Year, because it will allow the population to stock up on supplies for the celebrations,” Mr. Lankouand© stated, highlighting the importance of the supplies as the year comes to a close.
