Komondjari: The municipalities of Gayeri and Bartiebougou donate 17 motorcycles and 25 walkie-talkies to the VDP (Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland). The special delegations of the communes of Gayeri and Bartiebougou proceeded, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at the town hall of Gayeri, to the official handover of 17 motorcycles and 25 walkie-talkies to the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) of their respective localities. The handover ceremony took place in the presence of provincial and municipal authorities, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), as well as the VDP beneficiaries. According to Burkina Information Agency, the special delegation of the commune of Gayeri, represented by its second vice-president, Mr. Raogo Darankoum, officially handed over ten motorcycles and twenty-five walkie-talkies, with a total value of 10,737,500 CFA francs, to the VDP of the commune of Gayeri. In addition to this aid, a financial contribution of 1,000,000 CFA francs was allocated for the purchase of fuel. Mr. Darankoum stated that this donation aims to strengthen the operational capabilities of the security forces (FDS) and the volunteer homeless (VDP) engaged in the fight against terrorism. He expressed his gratitude to the FDS and VDP for their efforts in protecting the territory and ensuring the safety of citizens. The president of the special delegation of the commune of Bartiebougou, Mr. Idogo Boukari, contributed to the provincial security effort by handing over seven Aloba type motorcycles to the VDP of his commune. Additionally, the commander of the 20th Rapid Intervention Battalion in Gayeri, known as "Percuteur," on behalf of the National Bureau of Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland, presented eleven motorcycles to the VDP in Oue. He emphasized the importance of sharing equipment among the VDPs of the three communes and fostering solidarity to defeat terrorism. The provincial president of the VDP, Mr. Bandiba Lompo, expressed appreciation for the donations and assured the effective use of the equipment provided. This initiative by local authorities is part of the national movement to support forces engaged in securing the territory and protecting the population.
