Gasoline Tanker Overturns in Pô, Minor Injuries and Property Damage Reported

Pô, Burkina Faso – A tanker truck carrying gasoline overturned during the night from Friday to Saturday in Pô, resulting in minor injuries to one person and damage to a car.

According to Burkina Information Agency, from the four occupants of the tanker, including the driver, the accident occurred following an alert about smoke emanating from under the tank. Efforts to stop the vehicle were unsuccessful, leading to its eventual overturn.

One of the occupants sustained slight injuries in the incident, and a nearby car was damaged. The occupants reported that they promptly notified the security services and customs authorities following the accident.

However, before the arrival of the emergency services, some individuals took advantage of the situation, ignoring the potential danger and helping themselves to the spilled gasoline.

In response to the accident and as a precautionary measure, all services in the vicinity were closed, including two financial institutions. This closure caused inconvenience to customers, particularly during the festive period, who were unable to make withdrawals.

A safety perimeter of 100 meters was established around the accident site to manage any further risks.
